Cultural Medallion winner Chua Ek Kay dies

Many of us would have read about this piece of sad news.

You can read them here and here

When I heard it on the TV, I was very sad .
I last met him on 26th Jan 08, during the exhibition opening at Telok Kurau Studios, where I work.

The poem below is a reminder for me and a reflection of how I felt about this piece of news.
The poem written by Maureen Tay-Lim , in her book "Words of Comfort". I wonder what makes the author wrote about it. Hope I can find out from her one day.

Even though I may not be Cha Ek Kay's friend, but he has once or if not, a couple of times, passed by my life ,especially at this work place here.
I pray that I will not repeat this foolishness again .
as Proverbs says "He who wins souls is wise". Please help me Lord !

Poem :

My Confession by Maureen Tay-Lim

I have not been a friend in deed
To share the Gospel you really need
Should have pointed the Way somehow
But alas, alas, it is too late now.

I know of the Lord Jesus Christ
The Son of God, redeeming Sacrifice
The prince of Peace, the Counsellor
The Anointed One, the Messiah.

Jesus came to show the Way
You and I are to take each day
He came to reveal the divine Truth
We are to every sin reprove.

Life on earth and then glory
A Home on high for eternity
His gift of salvation is free
By Grace for you and for me.

Now I ponder in deep remorse
Why I share not repentance cause
My denial had stripped you bare
Deprived you of His Kingdom share
