The Pasco Restaurant

taken from David Allbritton's " One to one".

Linda and I were trying to have a romantic dinner. I was looking into her two beautiful brown eyes and she was looking at my green one and brown one. At any rate, the romance was alive and well. Suddenly the man sitting at the table across from us angrily threw his newspaper on the floor, looked at me and blurted out.
"I"M SICK OF BAD NEWS. I GET BAD NEWS AT HOME, AT WORK, ON TV, AND IN THE PAPER. I'M SICK OF BAD NEWS. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME? I'M SICK OF IT."

I quickly responded, "Well I have good news for you. Some two thousand years ago Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again to give you eternal life. If you'll believe on Him, this will be the greatest day in your life.

The man looked at me with astonishment and said, "Man, you are strange." He then proceeded to pick up the paper and began reading again. After pausing for a moment, he once again angrily thre the paper down and confessed, "THERE'S BAD NEWS EVEN ON THE SECOND PAGE. WOULD YOU AND YOUR WIFE COME OVER HERE, EAT WITH ME AND SHARE WHAT GOOD NEWS?"

Without hesitating, Linda and I quickly picked up our plates and made our way to his table. We explained the gospel, listened intently to his problem and proceeded to lead him in the sinner's prayer.

The man was gloriously saved and began to laugh with an incredible amount of enthusiasm. With a big smile on his face he said "You know, I feel like I have just been born again."

I answered, "You have been born again, that's exactly how Jesus explained the salvation experience. Your life will never again be the same and when you die, Heaven will now be your home."

With a big smile on his face, he affirmed, "Now I have a reason to live! Thank you Jesus !"
